What Is a Good Agoda Score?

Learn what counts as a good Agoda score, why no universal pass mark exists, how results are reported, and what progression really tells candidates.

The only useful definition of a good score

A good Agoda score is the result that clears the hiring team's threshold for your specific vacancy. Agoda does not publish one company-wide pass mark, and candidates are not normally sent a neat percentage after completing the assessment. That makes claims such as “you need 70%” look reassuring but misleading.

The practical outcome is binary: progression or no progression. One recent senior-manager candidate reported receiving 24 questions in 36 minutes, answering 18 questions and progressing to interview. That is a valuable real-world data point, but it is not a benchmark. It does not reveal which answers were correct, how the adaptive scoring weighted them, what norm group applied, or which cutoff that team used.

My strong view is that candidates should stop treating “18 out of 24” as a target. It is evidence that completing every item is not always necessary, not evidence that 75% is Agoda's pass mark. The distinction matters.

Why Agoda has no single public pass mark

Agoda's assessment process is role-dependent. Its official hiring material says that not all roles require an assessment and that the methods can include aptitude tests, coding assignments and business cases. For many analytical vacancies, candidate reports identify this assessment as the first-round gateway. Other routes look quite different.

This is why a universal Agoda cutoff would make little sense. A Strategic Partnerships role can emphasize graphs, charts and logical reasoning. Marketing and Product roles can emphasize business analytical acumen. People, Finance and Legal assessments can include numerical, statistical and logical thinking, while some People roles may also evaluate cognitive ability or behavioral fit. Tech candidates may instead receive a coding test in Python, SQL or another role-relevant technology.

Even within this route, the hiring team can set the standard that fits the vacancy. A high-volume analyst intake and a senior specialist search do not necessarily use the same comparison group or progression rule. Agoda has explicitly described cutoffs as team-dependent rather than a single company number.

There are 3 consequences:

  1. A score that progresses for one vacancy may not progress for another.
  2. A candidate's raw number answered is not the same as a scored result.
  3. Online percentile claims cannot be transferred safely to your invitation without knowing the assessment version and norm group.

What Verify G+ actually scores

The Verify G+ format reported in Agoda analytical hiring combines numerical, deductive and inductive reasoning. The fact sheet describes an adaptive assessment with up to 30 questions and 36 minutes available. Adaptive means the path can change in response to performance; candidates may not see an identical sequence or an identical final count.

That design breaks the simple school-test model. On a fixed classroom quiz, 18 correct answers out of 24 questions would equal 75%. On an adaptive assessment, “answered 18” does not tell you that 18 were correct or that each had equal scoring value. It also does not tell you whether unanswered items are treated in the same way as wrong answers within the reported result.

Results are commonly reported against a relevant comparison group. Employers then decide how to use that evidence alongside the job requirements and recruitment funnel. Agoda does not publish the chosen norm group, the weighting of the 3 ability areas, or the threshold for each team. Any website offering an exact Agoda percentile without access to those settings is guessing.

The contrarian takeaway is encouraging: the question “How many must I finish?” is usually less useful than “How reliably am I solving the items I attempt?” The candidate who progressed after answering 18 questions shows why frantic completion is not the only viable route.

Raw answers, percent correct and percentile are different

Candidates often use “score” to mean 3 different things:

Those numbers are not interchangeable. Reaching 24 questions says nothing certain about accuracy. Getting 75% correct on a practice set does not guarantee the same standing on an adaptive live assessment. A 70th percentile result, if one were shown, would mean performing at least as well as roughly 70% of the selected comparison group; it would not mean answering 70% of the questions correctly.

This is also why practice-platform percentages need context. A 20-question untimed drill isolates skill. A 36 minutes mixed, adaptive assessment adds selection, pacing and switching costs. Both are useful, but they measure different conditions.

How Agoda communicates assessment results

Agoda does not normally disclose a numeric score to candidates. The reported communication is a feedback email identifying possible improvement areas. That can feel vague if you expected a mark, yet it reflects how the assessment is used: as one screening input tied to a role, not as a public certification exam.

Read the outcome in this order:

  1. A direct invitation to interview means you cleared the relevant gateway.
  2. A feedback email without progression means the hiring team did not move you forward for that application.
  3. Silence for a short period is not a score signal; Agoda says process timing varies with the role, interviewer availability and logistics.

Do not reverse-engineer a hidden percentage from the feedback categories. “Numerical reasoning could improve” identifies a development area, but it does not reveal whether you missed the cutoff by 1 percentile or 20 percentiles. The report also cannot tell you whether another candidate pool would have produced the same decision.

What the 18-of-24 report does and does not prove

The senior-manager candidate's account is unusually concrete: 24 questions were presented, 36 minutes were available, 18 questions were answered, and the candidate advanced. It supports 2 restrained conclusions.

First, at least one candidate progressed without answering all visible questions. Second, Agoda's decision cannot be reconstructed from completion rate alone.

It does not prove that answering 18 questions is sufficient for you. We do not know the number correct, the difficulty path, the job family, the candidate norm, the date-specific configuration or whether other evidence affected progression. Treat it as a counterexample to the claim that everyone must finish — not as a cutoff formula.

Compare it with a hypothetical: imagine 2 other candidates from the same intake, one who answered all 30 questions but made 8 careless errors, and one who answered only 15 questions but got 14 correct. Adaptive scoring weighs accuracy and difficulty of items reached, not raw completion, so either of those candidates could plausibly progress ahead of, or behind, the 18-of-24 report — there is no way to rank them from completion numbers alone. That is the real lesson: 3 candidates, 3 different completion counts, and the only honest conclusion is that none of the 3 numbers tells you who scored better.

A better practice target is stable accuracy under time. For example, compare 3 timed sets rather than celebrating one unusually strong set. Track accuracy by numerical, deductive and inductive item type, then investigate whether errors come from misunderstanding, calculation, pattern selection or rushing. That evidence is under your control; Agoda's hidden cutoff is not.

How to judge whether your practice score is competitive

There is no verified Agoda conversion table, so use ranges as training signals rather than promised outcomes. Start with an untimed baseline of at least 20 questions per ability area. Once you can explain nearly every mistake, move to mixed timed practice that resembles the cognitive switching of Verify G+.

Use a simple decision rule across 3 sessions:

Do not manufacture a “safe” target such as 90%. High practice accuracy is valuable, but the live result depends on item difficulty and comparison settings that practice providers cannot see. Your goal is a repeatable process: extract the rule, calculate cleanly, eliminate options and commit before the clock dictates the choice.

A better score strategy for the final 36 minutes

The best score strategy is not “answer as many as possible.” It is “avoid low-information mistakes while keeping momentum.” That sounds subtle, but it changes what you do.

During the first 60 seconds of an item, identify the task before touching the options. In numerical reasoning, name the required operation and units. In deductive reasoning, separate what must follow from what merely could follow. In inductive reasoning, test one visual rule across every frame before adding a second rule.

If an item is consuming time without producing new information, make the best justified choice and move on according to the interface rules. Spending 4 minutes to rescue one problem can cost several later opportunities. Yet guessing after 15 seconds is also poor process. Effective pacing lives between those extremes.

Use the official invitation as the authority on navigation and timing. These assessments can vary, and the reported Verify G+ ceiling of 30 questions is not a promise that your session will show exactly 30 questions. Read the instructions before the timer begins.

What progression says about your result

If Agoda invites you to interview, it says one precise thing: your assessment outcome was sufficient for that team to continue evaluating you. It does not mean you achieved a particular percentile, topped the applicant pool or will face an easier interview.

The next stage changes the evidence Agoda collects. Its published process describes initial interviews with prospective team members, then potentially deeper interviews with managers, colleagues and stakeholders. Case studies, technical problems, behavioral questions and live problem solving can all appear depending on the role. Passing this stage closes one gate; it does not substitute for those later signals.

Preserve the reasoning habits that helped on the assessment. Agoda says it values problem solving, technical skill, cultural contribution and growth potential. In an interview, show the path from evidence to decision rather than announcing that you are analytical. A concise Context-Action-Results example with a measured outcome is stronger than a generic claim.

If your result did not progress

A non-progression decision does not reveal your score, so resist inventing a story around it. Use the improvement areas in the feedback email as the first diagnostic, then compare them with your own recollection of which domain felt slow. Agoda's reported policy allows reapplying to the same analytical role after 3 months; the dedicated failed-assessment guide covers that decision in depth.

The useful move is to create a new performance record before reapplying. Complete 3 comparable timed sessions, record error categories and require improvement across more than one sitting. That turns an opaque result into a concrete preparation plan without pretending to know Agoda's unpublished cutoff.

Frequently asked questions

Is 18 answers out of 24 enough to pass Agoda's assessment?

One senior-manager candidate reported answering 18 questions out of 24 questions in 36 minutes and progressing, but that is only 1 candidate report. It does not disclose accuracy, adaptive difficulty or the team's cutoff, so it cannot be treated as a pass mark.

Does Agoda require a 70% score?

No verified Agoda source publishes a universal 70% requirement. Agoda uses team-specific thresholds, while Verify G+ can present up to 30 questions in 36 minutes; a raw percentage and a normed result are not the same measure.

Will Agoda tell me my exact assessment score?

Candidates commonly receive a feedback email about improvement areas rather than a numeric score. If you have no update after 5 days, check the recruiter timeline before interpreting silence as a result, because communication speed varies by team.

Does leaving questions unanswered mean an automatic fail?

No public Agoda rule says all questions must be completed. The reported progression after 18 answers on a 24 questions session is direct evidence that incomplete activity did not automatically prevent progression in that case.

Can I use my practice-test percentile as Agoda's cutoff?

No. A practice result from 20 questions uses that provider's items and comparison method, while Agoda's reported Verify G+ route can run for 36 minutes and use adaptive delivery. Treat practice percentiles as trend data, not Agoda's unpublished threshold.
