Seeing "Windows protected your PC"?
This warning appears for new desktop apps that Windows hasn't seen enough times to build a reputation score.
It does not automatically mean the app is malicious — it means Microsoft Defender SmartScreen is asking you to confirm you trust the source.
TestSolve is a newly-launched app, so the reputation score is still being built. After enough verified installs, the warning disappears for everyone.
3-click install path
- Download TestSolve from testsolve.ai (you'll get
DisplayHelper-Setup.exe). - Run the installer. If Chrome warns "this file isn't commonly downloaded", click the ⋮ menu on the download bar → Keep.
- If Windows SmartScreen appears when you run the file, click More info.
- Check that the app name is TestSolve (or DisplayHelper) and the publisher is unsigned. Confirm in your head: yes, I just downloaded this from testsolve.ai.
- Click Run anyway.
- The installer runs. Click through, then launch TestSolve from your Start menu — you'll see a QR code to pair your phone.
What if Defender removes the file entirely?
On some configurations, Windows Defender deletes new files outright before you see the SmartScreen prompt. If that happens:
- Open Windows Security (Win key → type "Defender" → press Enter).
- Go to Virus & threat protection → Protection history.
- Find the TestSolve entry. Click it → Actions → Restore.
- Re-run the installer.
Will the warning go away over time?
Yes. SmartScreen's reputation system tracks how many people have downloaded a file and how recently. New publishers always start with low reputation. As more people install TestSolve from the official site, the warning fades out — first for some users, then most, then everyone.
If you're seeing the warning today, you're an early user. Thanks for sticking with it.
